Lab Appointments and Information

  • Monday-Friday, 8:15am-4pm

Lab only visits for current Family Medicine patients require a Family Medicine provider order. Patients will be put on the lab schedule upon arrival.

  • Lab patients getting tested for glucose (blood sugar) and cholesterol (lipids) should not eat anything after 10:00 PM the night before, or at least 8 hours prior to, your scheduled appointment. Be sure to drink plenty of water before your visit.
  • On the day of your appointment, please check-in at the Front Desk. Do not go directly to the Lab.
  • Anyone who is given a lab order form by their provider can make a lab only appointment, and should schedule it before leaving the Family Medicine Center

To refill a prescription, call your pharmacy in advance. Please call at least 7 business days before you will run out of medication. The pharmacy’s telephone number and your prescription number are listed on the prescription package. Most prescriptions can be refilled by following this simple procedure.

Some medications require an office visit prior to refill. Examples that require an office visit include all controlled prescription medications (such as stimulants, opioids, and benzodiazepines), and any prescription medications if you have not had an appointment at the FMC within the last 12 months.

If an appointment is required, please schedule through My UNC Chart or call 984-974-0210 to make an appointment. Bring all current prescriptions and over-the-counter (OTC) medications with you for your doctor to review.

Please contact our office via My UNC Chart or at 984-974-0210 if there are any changes in your preferred pharmacy, or if you need an appointment or other information.
