Network Medical Directors

Aaron Leininger, MD, Triangle East

Aaron Leininger, MDAaron Leininger, MD, is the Triangle East Medical Director for UNC Physicians Network, as well as a practice physician at UNC Orthopedics & Sports Medicine at Clayton.

Dr. Leininger attended Clemson University and majored in mechanical engineering for his undergraduate degree before attending medical school at UNC Chapel Hill.  He completed a family medicine residency and sports medicine fellowship at Cone Health in Greensboro, North Carolina. He practiced in primary care for five years before transitioning to sports medicine in 2015. 

He is board-certified in internal and sports medicine. He brings experience working in four major health systems, and is currently completing his MBA from Fayetteville State University with specialization in healthcare management. 


Sachin Gupta, MD, Triangle West

Sachin Gupta, MD

Sachin Gupta, MD, is the Triangle West Network Medical Director for UNC Physicians Network, as well as a practicing primary care physician at UNC Family Medicine at Panther Creek.  

He is experienced in managing physician relations and working to build successful clinical teams to create positive patient outcomes. Dr. Gupta earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Virginia Commonwealth University. 

He earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed his residency in family medicine from Halifax Medical Center.  He is board-certified in family medicine.


Wayne Jarman, MD, East

Wayne Jarman, MDWayne Jarman, MD, is the East Network Medical Director for UNC Physicians Network, as well as a general surgery physician at UNC Surgical Specialist at Lenoir.

Dr. Jarman’s family roots are in North Carolina, and he came to the state for undergraduate studies at Wake Forest University at 1966.

He received his medical degree at the Boyman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem in 1974 and remained there for his general surgery residency training. Dr. Jarman opened his first practice in Statesville, North Carolina and moved to Kinston in 1996. He is board-certified in surgery.
